Résumé :
|
The currently used definitions of success of medical termination of pregnancy (MToP, or medical abortion) are inconsistent and provider-dependent. The increasing use of medical treatments in place of surgery makes it necessary to find new definitions for MToP outcomes where the only true failure is verifiable and unambiguous : ongoing viable pregnancy. The new definitions recommended in this review should allow for easier and more reliable comparison of the efficacy of different regimens in the future, and should improve the management of failed or incomplete abortion.
